that whereas I, Moses M. Brokaw of Readington Township Hunterdon
county and State of New Jersey on the twelfth day of August of
the firm of April, in the year of our Lord one thousand eight
hundred and fifty two, in the Inferior Court of Common Please
of the County of Hunterdon did recover a judgment against Joel
C. Lance for the sum of three hundred thirty-two dollars and ninety
cents. debt and four dollars costs, on the written bond and warrant
of attorney. Now this writing witnesseth that for the consideration
of one hundred sixty-sic dollars and forty-five cents to me paid
by Isaac G. Stryker of said township county and state I do assign
and let over unto the said Isaac G. Stryker , his heirs, executors,
administrators and assigns, the said judgment and this within
bond and all monies due thereon, or to become due, and the benefit
of all proceedings by execution or otherwise, had or to be had,
or to be done thereon; and I do constitute the said Isaac G. Stryker
my attorney irrevocable, in my name, but to his use, to do all
and every act and thing for the recovery of the said debt and
costs, and for the settling the same, as I myself could do: And
I do agree with the said Isaac G. Stryker that I will not do or
cause to be done, any act or thing whereby he or his assigns maybe
injured or defeated, in the recovery of the money due on the said
judgment, but will at all times notify and confirm the said Isaac
G. Stryker shall lawfully do in the premises; and the said Isaac
G. Stryker will agree with the said Moses M. Brokaw that he will
indemnify and save harmless the said Moses M. Brokaw from all
costs, damages, and charges whatsoever, which may accrue by reason
of anything done or carried on in the premises by the said Isaac
G. Stryker in the name of the said Moses M. Brokaw by virtue of
the authority herein given to the said Isaac G. Stryker: Moses M. Brokaw

Lance, of the township of Readington, in the county of Hunterdon and State of New Jersey, am held and firmly bound unto Moses M. Brokaw of the same township, county, and state aforesaidin the sum of three hundred thirty-two dollars and ninety centsLegal money of the United States, to be paid to the said Moses M. Brokaw or to his--executors, administrators, or assigns:--To which payment well and truly to be made I bind myself, my heirs, executors, and administrators firmly by these presents. Sealed with my seal this tenth day of August in the year of our Lord, eighteen hundred and fifty-two. THE CONDITION OF THIS OBLIGATION IS SUCH, That if the above bounden Joel C. Lance or hisheirs, executors or administrators, shall pay or cause to be paid the above named Moses M. Lance of the township of Readington in the county of Hunterdon and the State of New Jersey in and by a certain Bond bearing even date herewith, do stand bound unto Moses M. Brokaw of said township county and state in the penal sum of three hundred thirty-two dollars, and ninety centsconditioned for the payment of one hundred sixty six dollars and forty five cents to the said Moses M. Brokaw on demandNOW I do hereby for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators, desire and authorize you or any of you the said attorney or attorneys, to appear for me the said Joel C. Lancein the said court or elsewhere, in an action of debt, there or elsewhere brought, or to be brought against me at the suit of the said Moses M. Brokawor hisexecutors, administrators or assigns, upon the said obligation, as of the past, present, or any other subsequent time or times, and to confess judgment thereupon, against me for the said penal sum of three hundred thirty-two dollars and ninety centsmoney aforesaid, of debt, besides costs of suit, by cognovit actionem nihil dicit, or otherwise as to you shall seem meet. And also to remise, release, and for ever quitclaim unto the said Moses M.
