This Indenture made this ----- Day of ----- in the year of our lord one thousand Eight hundred and thirty Eight between Isaac G. Stryker of the Township of Readington and County of Hunterdon State of New Jersey of the first part and John Hall of the Township County, and State aforsaid of the Second part Witnesseth that the said party of the first for and in the consideration of the sum of ----- Dollars good and lawful mony of the State of New Jersey to them in hand paid by the said party of the second part the Receipt whereof is hearby acknowledged have graned bargained sold released remised and confirmed and by these preses do grand sell remise release alien and confirm unto the said party of the sexond part (but always reserving a quit that is annually on the said herein after discribed being a certain wood lot it being part of the land heretofore leased unto Harmon Rulison Deceased by -----] Situated in the said Township of Readington County and State aforsaid the said lot being a wood lot and has its begining at a Stone heep made for that purpose at the northeast corner of the woods before the door of David G. Covenhoven house and runs first by the ede of the field and the woods due west course five chains to a stone heep thence in the woods due south four chains to a stone heep then due east five chains to a stone heep in the line of the land of said Covenhoven purchased of said John Hall and thence with the same due north four chains to the begining containing two acres. Together with all and singular the heriditimants and appertainance thereinto belonging or in any wise appertaining and the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders [Excepting the before annual quite before mentioned] Issues and prophets thereof and all the estates rights title interest claims and demand whatsoever of the said parties of the first part either in law or equity of in and to the above bargained premises with the said heriditiments and appertainances to have and to hold the above described lot and appertainance] Still subject to the annual quite as aforsaid] to the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns to warrent and forever defend the above deserted wood lot of land and every part and parcel thereof now being in peaceable possession of the party of the second part against the said party of the first part their heirs executors administrators and assignes and against all and every other person or persons cliaming or to claims the said premises or any part thereof to the sole and only use benefit and behoof of the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns for ever and the said party of the first part doth for themselves their executors administrators do covanant grant bargain promise and agree to and with the said party of the second part his heirs and assigns to warrant and forever defend the above described wood lot of land and every part and parcel thereof yet subject to the aforsaid annual quit--

Hunterdon County Be it remembered that on this ----- day of May in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty eight before me John Twackhammer on the commissioners for takeing the acknowledgement and proof of deed in and for the said county personally appeared Isaac G. Stryker known to me to be the grantor within named and I having made known to him the contents of the foregoing deed he did thereupon acknowledge that he signed sealed and delivered the same as his act and deed.
