Subject Line: Provide your
name and an appropriate "grabber”–perhaps "Welcome to the World of Andrea
Beaudin"; it may be a little "corny," but people will know it’s about you.

Content: Should respond to
the following questions, but read in prose form:
-
What's your name?
(first name, last initial is fine)
-
What's your class
designation (First year, sophomore, etc.)?
-
What's your major
(and if you haven't decided, what major[s] are you leaning towards)?
-
What drew you to
your major?
-
How do you think
the ways of thinking in your major may influence your approach to writing?
-
Why did you choose
to attend Southern?
-
What are your
hobbies or interests? What do you do in your spare time?
-
Do you go online
at all? If you do, how do you spend your online time?
-
List a few sites
for us to visit that reflect your tastes (if you're not often online,
visit Google and type a hobby or two in the search box; maybe you'll see
something that interests you).
-
Anything else
you'd like for us to know about you?
Before posting, review the suggestions
at cundrie.com for posting to the listserv.
Remember, the LS is a place for
you to continue learning outside of the classroom. Although I may request
that you post specific research findings, observations, or responses based
on work I assign, I would hope that you would also take advantage of the
listserv’s opportunities for exchange and self-guided learning. If that’s
not incentive enough, your grade is based on both completion of listserv
assignments and independent listserv work. How can you initiate and
cultivate a productive online conversation concerning the issues we’re
grappling with in class? |
