2/266:20-6:35 / 7:40-7:55: Grammar Review 2b—discuss research paper topics and determine whether too broad/overly confining. Consideration of D&P’s essay forms as possible helpful hint. Read listserv assignments in class; discuss collaboration and results. Consider how Rich might approach a re-vision J. Continue discussion of Rich. Consider what lessons we as writers may gain from her. Review possible assignments and approaches. Begin freewriting/culling ideas. Next class: Draft of Exploration II due. Bring two copies of draft.
2/286:20-6:35 / 7:40-7:55: Grammar Workshop: Get together in groups based on exploration assignment. Read through aloud without stopping; partner notes where reader hesitates/fumbles (often indic. Grammar). Query class—what to work with/look forà general dev. issues: intro, thesis, organization, citation/use of sources, analysis vs. summary. Workshop Break: develop rubric Works Cited Continue workshop: considering criteria, partner should re-view. Write “letter” to author discussion strengths and areas for improvement. [this needs to be submitted in addition to regular writing materials with draft] Next Class: MEET IN BULEY ENTRANCE! Exploration due. RPP information will be posted to listserv. Draw up a list of the types of sources that you will need for your research paper, specific questions/concerns/considerations to resolve.
