Listserv I: Introductions

For your first post to the listserv, introduce yourself to the rest of the community!

(Make sure that you've subscribed to the listserv first)

Subject:    Provide your name and an appropriate "grabber"-- perhaps "Welcome to the World of Andrea Beaudin"; it may be a little "corny," but people might be interested in finding out more about you.

Content:    Your post should respond to the following questions, but read in prose form:

bulletWhat's your name (first name, last initial is fine)?
bulletWhat's your class designation (First year, sophomore, etc.)?
bulletWhat's your major (and if you haven't decided, what major[s] are you leaning towards)?
bulletWhat drew you to your major?
bulletHow do you think the "ways of thinking" in your major may influence your approach to writing?
bulletWhy did you choose to attend Southern?
bulletWhat are your hobbies or interests? What do you do in your spare time?
bulletDo you go online at all? If you do, how do you spend your online time?
bulletList a few sites for us to visit that reflect your tastes (if you're not often online, check out Google and list a hobby or two-- maybe you'll see something that interests you).
bulletAnything else you'd like for us to know about you?

Before Posting: Review the suggestions for posting to the listserv. You may also want to take a look at this ancient (well, for the internet, at least) set of guidelines for internet etiquette. A shorter version is available from this ancient newsgroup posting as well (though I don't have any evidence that the poster is/was the writer; in fact, the author of this work appears to have gone by the handle of Znevyla Unafba [try saying that even ONCE quickly]).
