Classroom and Computer Use

As this is a laptop lab, we have to follow a certain protocol:

bulletNO FOOD OR DRINK IN THE CLASSROOM! (This is a University rule; we risk damaging very expensive equipment)
bulletBRING YOUR ID. You will need an ID (student or state) to check out a computer for class. Again, University rules.
bulletPUT THINGS BACK WHERE THEY BELONG. (Just like your mother said.) If you use a laptop during a session and you are helping to put the PCs back at the end of class, make sure that you have the laptop in the correct (numbered) spot, with the number facing out so that it can be read, and, of course, PLUGGED IN so that it can charge a bit before the next class session.
bulletBRING A DISK (CD RW, DVD-RW, or USB "Jump" drive), and HAVE ANOTHER FOR BACKING UP INFORMATION (my rule). As we will be workshopping and drafting some work in class, it is expected that you provide a way to store and backup your data. If one disk becomes corrupted, you should have a backup.
bulletDid you know? You have online storage space available via your "U" Drive (for campus access upon logging in to a University computer) or via http://remote.southernct.edu
bulletLOSE YOUR DISK? Check the home for lost disks (atop the laptop cart in B110).
